5 Steps to U.S. Study – Join us for a Pre-Departure Orientation

Y-Axis Foundation – U.S. Education Advisory Center invites students joining U.S. Universities in the academic year 2019-2020 to a session on pre-departure orientation on Saturday – 29th June’2019, 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm in Hyderabad.
The event will have an interactive session on a range of topics covering travel planning, F1 visa rules as an international student in the U.S., adjusting to social and cultural life, and the academic environment in the U.S. The speakers will include representatives from Education USA – Hyderabad, travel industry and alumni of U.S. universities.
The pre-departure orientation is designed to ease the entry of Indian students into American culture and enable them to make the most of their student life in the United States. Participation in the orientation will prepare the Indian students for the academic rigor, to cope with the cultural adjustments and to manage an independent lifestyle in the United States. This will also provide them with an opportunity to meet other students traveling to various universities in the U.S. and create a network of contacts.

- Introduction and welcome.
- Travel, ticketing, finance, the port of entry procedures, health insurance, etc.
- Housing, dining, accommodation and contact details.
- Academics – Register for courses, credit system, plagiarism and classroom etiquette.
- Coping with the new environment, homesickness, cultural adjustments and holiday utilization.

What is Y-Axis Foundation?
The Y-Axis Foundation U.S. Education Advisory Center is a unique advisory center established in collaboration with the U.S. embassy for students who desire to pursue higher education in the U.S. It provides them with accurate, comprehensive and current information to find the institution that best fits their needs. The advisers are trained by a certified trainer designated by the U.S. embassy and they offer unbiased advice and guide the students based on their profile. The trained advisers at this center can guide the students through the process of ‘5 steps to U.S. study’ and show them the pathway and make them aware of the opportunities available in the U.S.
What do we do?
The center offers free advising session to all the students who wish to pursue their higher education in the US. The Center conducts regular sessions for students and parents to explain the research process and selecting the best-fit college and how to put together a strong application for an accredited U.S. institution. We have a well-equipped library to help students in their journey. The students can avail themselves of the library services for free to prepare for their standardized tests and research their options.
