Epidemiology:

Epidemiology is the study of the distribution and determinants of health-related states or events in specified populations, and the application of this study is to control health problems. It is a discipline within public health, providing the foundation for directing practical and appropriate public health action based on this science and causal reasoning.

Masters in the U.S:

The U.S. universities offer Master of Science (MS) and Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology. MS program is more focused on mathematical theories and science and covers scientific hypothesis, epidemiological study design, and the utilization of computer programs to analyse data sets. Whereas, MPH degree offers coursework in biostatistics, research methodology, social and community health, occupational health, environmental health, and many other topics relevant to the field.
